McCain Discusses The Issue of Gay Marriage With Ellen

John McCain heads to California today to meet with voters and raise some money. He has two rallies planned in the northern part of the state, one in Stockton and one in Union City. He’ll be speaking at Finelite, Inc., in Union City, a lighting company where he will keep with his theme of improving America’s competitiveness in the global economy. He’ll also hold fundraisers in Stockton and Atherton.

If your travel plans don’t include northern California, McCain will also be making an appearance on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this afternoon. The openly gay talk show host has announced her intention to marry her girlfriend, an issue on which she and McCain disagree. In excerpts released by the show, McCain says he's heard her "articulate that position in a very eloquent fashion. We just have a disagreement. And I, along with many, many others, wish you every happiness."

"So, you'll walk me down the aisle? Is that what you're saying?" she asked.
